Gus Dudgeon Foundation Summer Residency

I was awarded a prize for my work through honours year at Abertay. I was chosen along with 11 other students from across the UK to be a part of this residency held at Leeds Beckett University and run by JAMES. I got to meet Ken Scott, sound engineer for the Beatles, Pink Floyd and Elton John, as well as producer for David Bowie to name a few! He chatted to all of us, imparting some of his immense knowledge of the industry and we all received copies of his book, which he signed as well.

We recorded a track with producer Mark Hutchinson and it was run as a masterclass for the week. He showed us is methods, tips and tricks on music production and we all got to be a part of the setup and recording process. I even played acoustic guitar on the final track. I learned a lot from the experience and met a wonderful group of people!
